About Us
I LOVE CLAY! Absolutely love the feel of it in my hands when I take a lump and create a keepsake for my loyal customers for over 30 years. I have been working in this medium since 1985 participating in Northeastern Ohio's top juried shows. Producing thousands of pieces yearly I never get tired of being blessed to work out of my home while raising 6 children since 1982 with my husband of 30 years.
I have had no formal art instruction, but have relied on my God-given talent and imagination, combined with observation and experimentation. Family life has had a profound influence and inspiration to my design work.
A personalized Christmas ornament is a gift that lasts for many years. I don't know about you, but as I decorate my tree, I can't help but remember that friend, child or loved one who presented it to me. Many of you give my ornaments as gifts, passing on this cherished memory and I am very grateful.
This year has been, a year of renewed creativity! I started a blog which I'll try to keep up as best possible. I wanted to share my gifts and show the process of how all my products are made. Feel free to ask questions on that blog, that is the whole purpose of it. My daughter Virginia encouraged me to do the YouTube videos - we have had so much fun with that and there will be many more to come! Just another avenue of creativity and we already have a long song list to create ornaments. I'll will admit, I'm not a big fan of social media, but times are changing and after attending a gift show in Las Vegas this year, I learned it is the future of all home based businesses. That also inspired me to create Santa's Social Network ornaments just for fun.
Just recently the Soli Deo Gloria collection has been especially meaningful. Wanting for many years to sculpt crosses, this year the Lord gave me the inspiration to finally do it. I look forward to where that will lead.
With OverLeTop! that has taken me in a totally different direction. Basically the ornament is taken off the tree and placed over the wine bottle - this has opened up year round business to wineries, gift stores, gourmet grocers and galleries. This venture has been exciting as well as challenging opening up the world of wholesale selling.
I thank each and every one of you who have kept Bert's Clay Creations going (even when my hands are tired!). Your continued support over the years has meant everything and is truly what keeps these hands rolling!
For His Glory,

Roberta "Bert" Prostor with Scottie and Miss B
"Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

"Soli Deo Gloria" my prayer room inspiration!
